Bryozoan Stigmatella crenulata - this is an acetate peel of a lateral cut through the bryozoan. This cut displays the individual zooecium (columns that are filled with a calcite cement). The only way a bryozoan can be identified down to the species level is by analyzing the zooecium under a microscope, as pictured above. The photo above is magnified 18X.
